Thomas Alexander “Tommy” Imsho, 64, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Staten Island, New York on September 24, 1946 and was a son of the late Bruno and Victoria Dziekowski Imsho. He was also predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Imsho; a brother, Edwin Imsho and a nephew, Billy Valcich. Tommy was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force and was a retired New York City Detective. He was a member of the Murrells Inlet American Legion and was instrumental in organizing the Post No. 178 Legion Baseball Team. Tommy was a golf associate and a certified golf instructor in the Myrtle Beach area for twenty years and had been employed by several Grand Strand courses.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Brenda Shelley Imsho of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Joseph Imsho of Staten Island, NY; a niece, Christine Valcich of NJ; three nephews, Robert, Jeff and James Imsho of NY; two great nieces, Jennifer Valchich and Kristy Tonino both of NJ; several great-great nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Flora Shelley of Myrtle Beach and two long time friends, Sal Riccobono of Long Island, NY and Danny Mazurek of Orlando, FL.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with Chaplain Lee Riggs officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC with Military Honors accorded by the United States Air Force.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
