Mr. John Thomas Kesselring, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 73. John was born to parents Frank and Virginia Kesselring on December 30, 1944 in Pine Lawn, Missouri. He grew up in St. Louis County and after high school joined the Army where he served in the 3rd Infantry (Old Guard) from 1963 to 1966.
While in the Washington D.C. area he met Margaret Mary Combs, and they were married on October 15, 1966. John drove a bus in the Washington D.C. area for a few years after serving in the Army, and his first child, Mark Douglas Kesselring, was born in Silver Springs, Maryland. From 1970 to 2009 John and Margaret lived in St. Charles County, Missouri where they had their second child, Michael Anthony Kesselring. John worked for a number of companies as a Draftsman, eventually working his way up to Structural Designer and leading efforts on many large projects. After retiring John and Margaret moved to Myrtle Beach, where they enjoyed retirement for the last 9 years.
John is survived by his brothers Frank, Greg, and Steve; his sister Mary, his son Mark and wife Mika; his son Michael and wife Holly; and granddaughter Irena. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; brothers Raymond, Richard, and Tony; and his parents Frank and Virginia Kesselring.
A small service with immediate family will be held at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on October 8 at 10:00 a.m. John will join his his wife Margaret in their final resting place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church Columbarium.
