Dianne Sutton Davis

Dianne Sutton Davis

Dianne “Dede” Davis, 71, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at her home in Myrtle Beach surrounded by family. She was born May 14th, 1947 in Hopewell, Virginia, daughter of the late Clayton B. Sutton and Lillian Maxwell. A 1977 Graduate of Coastal Carolina University, she started her beloved Nursing Career at Ocean View Memorial Hospital in Myrtle Beach. In 1978, she helped to open the brand-new Grand Strand Hospital. She later went on to spending many years working as a nurse at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and helping to open the Waccamaw Hospital where she was the nighttime nurse supervisor for the entire facility. She was constantly receiving recognition for her hard work and dedication, being named RN of the year multiple times at all three hospitals as well as runner-up RN of the year for the entire state of South Carolina.

Dianne was a second mother/friend/and shoulder to lean on for countless neighborhood kids, sports teammates, friends, work colleagues, and anyone she came into contact with that needed a helping hand or an ear to listen. Along with her late husband, Bobby Davis, you could always find one or both of them supporting you in the bleachers, on the sidelines, at the homework table, in a waiting room, in the crowd or on the other end of the telephone supporting and guiding anyone who asked for it or just plain needed someone. She was kind, compassionate, forgiving, patient, and as loving of a person as you’ve ever met. Dianne Davis will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Robert “Rob” Davis Jr., daughter, Cheryl Davis Isley, Grandson, Frank “Bo” Isley III, Granddaughter, Whitney Isley, sister, Linda McNey, brother-in-law, Thomas “Tom” Davis, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Davis. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
