William Mims Tiller, Jr.

William Mims Tiller, Jr. died Saturday , October 21, 2023.   He was born on November 16, 1949 in Greenville, SC, a son of the late William M. Tiller, Sr. and Mary Sue Coleman Tiller.

Bill graduated from Greenville High School in 1967. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force, serving 7 years including a tour in Vietnam. He was a volunteer honor guard for veterans in Myrtle Beach.  Bill retired after 30 years as an Air Traffic Controller in Charlotte, N.C.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah D. Tiller, daughters, Elizabeth McDaniel of Gaffney, S.C. and Rebecca Clayton of Charlotte, N.C.   A sister, Mary Tiller Payne and her husband, Powell of Greenville, S.C.; a stepson, Mack Carroll, II and wife, Daynia Carroll of Aynor, S.C.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mausoleum Service with military honors will be held at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Father John Sorensen officiating and vocalists, Sarah and Carolinah Carroll.  Visitation will be at 1:00PM prior to the service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1113 44th Avenue North STE 200, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
