William Bernard Rapp Jr 94 passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at Embrace Hospice of the Grand Strand.
Bill was born in Detroit, MI, the son of the late William B. and Anna Wallace Rapp. He was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis A. Rapp,
two brothers, Frank and James Rapp, four sisters, Alice Desimone, Jean Benedict, Lilliam Little, and Rose Pucci.
Bill was proud to be a veteran serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Eastman Kodak Company as a section supervisor in
the printing division. In 1995, he was awarded Craftsman of the Year by the Rochester Club of Printing House Craftsmen and was the
first President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Webster, NY in 1964. Bill was always thinking of others and in lieu of
flowers/memorials, he asks that you do something for a relative friend or stranger.
Survivors include, his wife, Helen Tarte Howland Rapp, his children, Michael Rapp and wife Mary of Webster, NY, Linda Dengler and
husband Bob of Rochester, NY, and Gail O’Geen of Charleston, SC, his sister, Myrna Schiano of Webster, NY, grandchildren, Jason McAvoy,
Monica Dengler, Anthony O’Geen, Jimmy O’Geen (Sarah), Carey O’Geen, Ryan Rapp, Evan Rapp, great grandson, Aiden Stenglein,;
nieces, nephews, and also many other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held in Rochester, NY, directed by Vay- Schleich & Messon Funeral Home at a later date.
