Obituary

William C. Blankenship, 75, of Little River SC, passed away at home and went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday 12/27/2021 after his fight with Wegener’s GPA.

William “Bill” was born on May 11, 1946 to Claude & Myrtle (Rowe) Blankenship in Huntington WV and graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne WV in 1966. He married his beautiful bride, Sharon Perdue in 1967 and then after years of changes they remarried in 2019. As he began his 30 year career with Pepsi Cola he was drafted into the Army and honorably served from April 1969 to October 1970. He later retired from Pilot as a fuel tank driver.

Bill was known by many from his love of  sports, coaching little league and senior league baseball and simply taking care of the fields he once coached. He also had a love for playing golf with his friends and spending time with his family. He was always joking around and if you were picked on, then you knew he liked you. He attended Today’s Harvest Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Claude, his mother, Myrtle, sister Eloise, sister Joan and sister Wilma Jean.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of Little River SC, his son Todd and wife Lisa of Florence SC and his daughter Michele and husband Mark of Hubert NC. Two grandchildren, Kayla and husband Isaiah of Mocksville NC and Carter of Mocksville NC. His sister Rita Mae of OH, sister Janith of KY, brother Sam of WV, brother Robie of OH, sister Joyce of WV, brother Randy of KS, brother Donnie of WV and brother Kevin of WV.
