This special man, Wayne Harrison Jones, 82, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away May 8, 2025, of complications from nearly a decade of battling Parkinson’s Disease.
A principled man of great integrity and dedication to his family, friends, faith, and country, he held various supervisory positions with the Sprint Corporation in NC, SC, TN, and VA for over 40 years. He retired from the Army National Guard and Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel after 37 years of service to his country.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jackie Jackson Jones, daughters, Christi Jones Basham of Myrtle Beach and Blake Jones McMurray and husband, Brian McMurray of Belmont, NC, two granddaughters, Brooke Basham and Macy Basham of Myrtle Beach, SC and two grandsons, Jackson McMurray of Elizabethton, TN, and Carter McMurray of Belmont, NC. He is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Jones Keen of Dawson, GA.
McMillan and Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, SC handled the cremation.
A Memorial/Celebration of Life service for Wayne will be held at a later date.
