Walter Franklin Moore

Walter Franklin Moore, 95, passed away on February 1, 2023.

Frank was born on May 28, 1927 in Sparta, IL to the late Laura and Fred Moore. He married Melva Lee Patrick after he returned from WWII. They were married for over 68 years.

In life, Frank proudly served in the US Navy on the ship USS Astoria. He was active over forty years in the Baptist Church as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Treasurer. Frank had unconditional love for his wife, two children, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Moore and wife, Tricia; a daughter, Janice Van Houter and husband, Scott; five grandchildren, Steven Moore and wife, Michelle, Kathleen Chambery and husband, John, Lesley Eller, Melinda Snyder and Melissa Luft and husband Ben; eleven great-grandchildren, Brianna, Stephanie, Emily, Andrew, Bradley, Jonathan, Austin, Jacob, Jackson, Haley and Lucy; five great-great grandchildren, Madilyn, Wyatt, Payton, Maverick and Wally.

Graveside services with military honors will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens, North Myrtle Beach.
