Victor "Chuck" Medcraft Obituary

Chuck was born October 15, 1929 in Madison Wisconsin to Victor and Edna (Fietz) Medcraft.  He graduated from Madison West High School in 1947 then joined the National Guard as a rifleman in 1949.  He was a member of the Army from January 1951 to January 1953 and provided shooting instruction to recruits heading to Korea.

Chuck married Joanne Hoven in October 1953 (she died in February 1991) and is survived by children Kathryn (David Myers), Judith (David Hurst), and Charles Medcraft plus grandchildren Katelyn and Kirstyn Myers, Jared, Anna (Matt McCabe), and Margaret Hurst, and Melissa and Michelle (Billy Rominger) Medcraft.  Great-grandchildren are Ryan, Chloe, and Keenan McCabe.

Chuck married Sarah Johnson in May 1997 and they just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.  They enjoyed splitting their time between Coral Springs, Florida and Myrtle Beach, golfing at both of their country clubs with family and friends.  Also surviving are Sarah’s sons, grandsons, a great-granddaughter, and spouses.

Chuck joined Addressograph-Multigraph as a printing machine repairman and was promoted into their manager training program.  This took him to Euclid Ohio, Chicago Illinois (twice), Youngstown Ohio, Detroit Michigan, Denver Colorado, and Coral Springs Florida (twice).  He retired from A-M and opened his own commercial printing business in Deerfield Beach Florida.

Chuck was a competitive bowler while living in Madison and scored a 300 (perfect) game in 1963.  He was inducted into the Madison Bowling Hall of Fame in 1983.  Chuck was an avid golfer all of his adult life and enjoyed many other sports.  After a hip replacement curtailed his recreational golf, he started growing orchids and was a member of the Coral Springs Florida Orchid Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joanne, and brother Robert.
