Travis "JT" Miller, 52, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina left this world on June 23, 2025, with the same fire he lived it—boldly, unapologetically, and on his own terms.
If you were lucky enough to love and know Travis, you know there will never be another. He wasn’t just a character—he was the main character in all of our stories. From the moment he opened his mouth, you were either laughing, thinking, or falling under some spell he cast with that mountain charm, quick wit, and those big, beautiful eyes that could see straight through your soul. He’d tell you he “came out of a holler in the mountains,” but baby, he came out shining. And he never stopped.
Travis was a walking, talking masterpiece—an original. Nobody wore clothes like Travis. Nobody moved through a room like Travis. He didn’t follow trends—he was the trend. Gucci shades, gold on his wrist, a car so clean it looked dipped in glass, and a presence so loud you felt it before you saw him. But all that shine was just surface—what made Travis unforgettable was his sweet and gentle soul, that he trusted with only his close few.
He carried a heart that hurt when others hurt. He saw people that the world tried not to see. I watched him give without asking for anything back, not even recognition—because he didn’t do it to be noticed. He did it because it was right. He loved hard, felt deeply, and when he called you family, it meant something real. And if he called you “root”? That was sacred. That meant he trusted you with the core of who he was.
There was no topic too sacred or too heavy to unpack with Travis. Life, God, pain, purpose—dreams too big for this world. He could sit with you in silence and still make it feel like something holy. That was his gift: he made the ordinary feel extraordinary. He had a way of lighting up even the darkest days, just by being himself.
But his brilliance didn’t stop at conversation—Travis had a mind built for greatness. A visionary with the heart of a servant, he built one of the largest real estate companies in South Carolina from the ground up. It wasn’t luck. It was grit, charisma, and the kind of bold leadership that made people believe in more—for themselves and for the world around them. You couldn’t sit across from Travis and stay small—he wouldn’t let you. He didn’t just build success, he multiplied it in others. And even at the height of achievement, he led with humility, generosity, resilience and soul. He didn’t just make deals—he made a difference.
He’d be the first to tell you he wasn’t perfect. But Lord, he was real. Raw. Unfiltered. Full of fire, fashion, and faith in the people he loved. His presence could shake a room or soothe a soul, and he was never afraid to speak his truth, even if it made others uncomfortable. Especially if it made others uncomfortable.
Travis leaves behind his beloved Vasudo—his ride-or-die fur baby who never left his side. He is also survived by his rock–his strong and loving mother, Sarah Wilson-Miller, who poured so much of her heart and herself into him. His brothers, William Luke and Samuel Alexander, who share the bond of blood and brotherhood with him, and his treasured nieces and nephews who were the light of his life and will now carry on his and spirit and passion.
More than anything, Travis leaves behind a world that isn’t ready to let him go. A world that was louder, bolder, and more beautiful because he was here.
To know Travis was to be changed by him. To love Travis was to be loved fiercely back with a loyalty and intensity that left no room for doubt. His absence now leaves a silence where his light once lived—a space in our hearts that no one else can ever fill.
A celebration of life will be held at Marina Inn, Waterscapes private dining room 12pm-2pm, On Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 8121 Amalfi Place Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
