Thomas Crisp Obituary

Thomas “Tommy” Crisp (age 74) passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2021.  Born on September 26, 1964, the son of Micky and Earline Crisp of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Preceded in death by daughter Amanda and his brother Bobby.

Survived by son Tom Jr, and his sister Becky Cooper.

He was a lifeguard at the beach in his youth, and graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1964.  While stationed at Malmstrom Airforce base he met his wife, and they were stationed in Chaiyi, Taiwan in 1967, a formative experience resulting in lifelong friendships. They moved to Spokane, Washington where they raised two children.  He was active with volunteer emergency first responders including service as a firefighter and EMT.  He became a full time Sheriff's Deputy with emphasis on public safety, education including DARE, marine safety, and arson investigation.  He collected classic cars and was active with many clubs.  He enjoyed touring on his Harley Davidson and he frequently attended the Sturgis Rally.  He is remembered for being a generous man, defender of the vulnerable, a legendary storyteller and master of jokes.  Friends lovingly remember "Tom will always be our favorite Santa Claus."

Condolences via memories shared on social media websites are appreciated in lieu of a memorial service.  Memorial gifts can be directed to Gabrielle Cooper and Sydney Hinson, his chosen granddaughters.
