Terry Ann Willard

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a beautiful life, we announce the passing of Terry Ann Willard—beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.

Born on April 28, 1948, she lived a life defined by enthusiasm, creativity, service, and an unwavering love for family. She married her junior high sweetheart, Brian Charles Willard. While Brian worked to provide for the family, she devoted herself to raising their six children, managing the household, and creating a loving home. Adventure, faith, and laughter were hallmarks of her life and personality. Her strength and dedication were the foundation that kept the family together through the years.

Preceded in death by Brian, she is survived by her children and their spouses: Scott (Suzanne) Willard, Michelle Pergolini, Kristen Swiggett, Shannon (Steven) Kohan, Brian (Sara) Willard, and Travis (Aldy) Willard; her brothers, Jon (Missy) Brassel, and Tracy (Sondra) Brassel; her 21 grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.

To know her was to experience her boundless energy and contagious enthusiasm. She had a true love for creativity and the arts, and took great joy in collecting beautiful and meaningful pieces that reflected her unique eye and appreciation for design. She had a gift for making life fun and memorable. Whether organizing relay races and games for her children, orchestrating family adventures, or creating her legendary Christmas programs—complete with costumes, humor, and playful shenanigans—she brought people together through laughter and love.

Her summers were often spent at the beach, creating treasured memories with her family that would last generations. She also loved scuba diving and embraced life’s adventures with curiosity and courage.

Her eye for beauty extended into art, fashion, and home décor, where her personal style was always evident. A self-taught visionary woman, she dabbled in many creative outlets - sewing, upholstery, painting, collecting art, design, and many more. Always stylish and ahead of the trends, she was known for her many hairstyles throughout the years and affectionately earned the title of “the hat lady,” as she was rarely seen without one of her signature hats.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully, especially in teaching children—bringing scripture stories to life with imaginative props, puppets, and animated storytelling. She also loved family history work and found great joy in connecting generations.

A lifelong learner, she never lost her hunger for knowledge. She was continually seeking greater understanding about faith, health, wellness, and how to live a whole and meaningful life.

Perhaps one of her greatest gifts was her generosity. Their home was always welcoming with room for one more at the table.

Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the faith she shared, the family she cherished, and the countless lives she touched. Her love for people was at the heart of who she was, and it will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Until we meet again, Mom, thank you for the memories, the lessons, the adventures, and the love.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
