Suzette Smith Obituary

Suzette A. Smith, 90, of Howell Township passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 1, 2023.  Suzette was born and raised in Fontainebleau, France.   She had met her husband, Bill who was in the United States Army, married and they were transferred to Germany.  They next moved to Augusta, GA prior to returning home while her husband served in the Vietnam War.  They returned to the United States in 1967 and had lived in the Shark River Hills section of Neptune.  Suzette worked as an administrative professional for Jersey Shore University Medical Center for the next ten years.  Along with her husband, they moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and owned and operated the Caravan Motel.  She returned to New Jersey in 2016 to be closer to her family, settling in the Surrey Downs Community in Howell.  Suzette was an amazing cook and always fashion forward (with a particular love for Polka dots).  She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and great grandmother, and dear sister.

Suzette was predeceased by her husband, Bill; parents, Charles Henry Louis, and Simone Aglae (nee Cignogne) Feyt; and siblings, Pierrette Feyt and Jacques H. Feyt.  She is survived by her children, Thierry Smith of Toms River, NJ, Thomas Smith and his wife, Lorraine of Winston Salem, NC and Peggy Timpani and her husband, Placido of Howell; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 3:30 PM.  Interment will be with her husband in Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery, Myrtle Beach, SC.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit http://www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
