Suzanne Marguery Alderson

Suzanne Marguery Alderson, 90, formerly of Goleta and Santa Maria, California, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Sue was born on April 27, 1935, in Pine City, Minnesota, to Marguerite and John Harvey. She grew up in Minnesota, with her parents and younger sister, Yvonne. She attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she met her beloved husband, Allen. They were married on June 9, 1957, in Princeton, Minnesota. Allen’s job moved them to Wisconsin and Massachusetts until 1972 when they moved to California.

While raising her 4 beautiful children, she volunteered in their numerous activities. Sue was devoted to her faith, serving her local churches as Sunday School Superintendents and LWML leadership which included attending multiple district conventions.  She volunteered many years as Girl Scout leader, playground supervisor and band mom. Sue enjoyed her Red Hatters clubs on both coasts and helped Allen lead their local chapter of Mended Hearts. Due to Al’s love of the space program, they spent endless hours anticipating space launches at both Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg AFB. Throughout her life, Sue enjoyed camping, waterskiing, traveling across the United States, and spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After Allen passed away, Sue moved to Myrtle Beach to be near her youngest grandchild. 

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and John, her husband Allen, son Donald and her brother-in-law William. She is survived by her sister Yvonne (Harvey) Daily of Tampa, FL; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Alderson of Minden, NV, daughters Debra Beisecker and husband Mark of Santa Barbara, CA, Cynthia Stucky and her husband Phillip of Buellton, CA, and Brenda Tainter and her husband Brian of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren Krystal Alderson, Kristina Alderson, Brett Beisecker and his wife Carli, Kelsey (Beisecker) Gwyn and her husband Tony, Sarah Stucky, Rebecca Stucky, Justin Tainter and his wife Marti, Darrek Tainter, and Bryan Tainter; and great-grandchildren Hunter and Khloe McKenzie, Leanna and Riley Tainter, and Jadyn Tainter.  

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  We are comforted in knowing that she is with her husband and son and that we will all be reunited again in heaven.
