Suzann Gutheil
Obituary
Suzann Burns Gutheil passed away peacefully August 5, 2023 at the age of 88 in Staunton, Virginia. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born October 25,1934 to George C. Burns and Mary Irene Killian. She grew up in Southern Pines, NC and raised her family in Myrtle Beach, SC. She later owned and operated a bed and breakfast and then hotel with her husband Lou Gutheil in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
Suzann is remembered fondly for her incredible work ethic, resilience, and sense of humor.
Suzann was predeceased by her husband Lou Gutheil, her sons David C. French and John Emmett French, III and her daughter Lynne French. Surviving are her daughter in law Paige French, grandson Hunter French, granddaughter Hannah French (Muckenfuss) and two great-grandchildren Burns and Cannon Muckenfuss.
