Sarah Jane Nance Watts, 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at National Health Care in Garden City, SC. Predeceased by loving husband of 65 years, Henry “Don” Watts.
Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Wayne Nance and Mary Ellen Todd Nance. She was a native of Myrtle Beach graduating from Myrtle Beach High School and served 62 plus years at First Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach as the organist and serving in the music department. She touched the lives of many with her passion for music and her instruction of Sunday and Bible schools. She enjoyed making new friends and was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family.
Survivors include her six children; Henry Watts “Duc” and wife Jill of Conway, David Watts and wife Julie of Myrtle Beach, Bruce Watts and wife Holly of Pawleys Island, Ted Watts and wife Donna of Murrells Inlet, Roxanne Watts Freeman and husband Buzz of Surfside Beach, Marianne Watts Glaze of Surfside Beach; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, a brother, John Nance and wife Margaret, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at McMillan- Small Funeral Home from 4-6 pm. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach on Sunday, November 13 at 2 pm. Graveside service will follow at Withers Memorial Cemetery in Myrtle Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach, 500 4th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 for their music department.
