It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Ruben Luster announces his passing on October 24, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and a proud resident of Myrtle Beach, Ruben lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by the people and community he loved.
Ruben was a devoted husband to Patricia, and a loving father to Natasha, Erica, Jason, Thomas, and Matthew. His greatest gift was his 7 grandkids; Mikayla, Mackenzie, Makenna, Austin, Charlie, Miles and Mason. His family and friends were always the center of his world, and he found that in time spent together; whether over coffee, on a cruise, or simply sharing laughter and stories.
A passionate and hardworking entrepreneur, Ruben owned and operated several beloved Myrtle Beach establishments, including The Bagel Factory, Tavern in the Forest, Full Belly BBQ, and Scrambled. His dedication, warmth, and signature smile made every guest feel like family; always leaving a lasting impression.
Those who knew Ruben will remember his larger-than-life personality and his ability to light up any room he entered. He had a heart of gold, a gift for making others feel seen, and a voice you could only love.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ruben’s life at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 5:00 PM at Tavern in the Forest.
Ruben’s presence will be deeply missed, but his kindness, laughter, and love will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him
