Ronald Vinson Brooks

Ronald Vinson Brooks, age 71, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born on October 3, 1953, in Anderson, South Carolina, and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Ron is survived by his wife Janet Rumler Brooks; his son Christopher Daniel Brooks; his daughter Stephanie Leigh Viccari, his son-in-law Timothy Jacob Viccari; his granddaughter Angelina Alora Brooks; and his grandson Jameson Brooks Viccari.

A proud graduate of Clemson University in 1978, Ron enjoyed a fulfilling career as a mechanical engineer. He worked for Milliken & Company, Jacobs Engineering, and several other engineering firms across South Carolina. Known for his artistic ability, Ron's skills in drawing led him to excel in stress engineering. He retired in 2014, and, alongside Janet, enjoyed their retirement years in Greenville, SC before relocating to Myrtle Beach in 2024.

A member of Oceanview Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, Ron had a quiet nature, but his generous heart and contagious laugh left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He loved to plan family vacations, and his family cherished the time they spent together on these trips. Those who knew him will forever remember his stories, his laughter, and his kind spirit.

A memorial service will be held at McMillan Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. A second memorial service will take place at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in Greenville, SC on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Following each memorial service, there will be a time for family visitation, allowing attendees to share their condolences and memories with the family.
