Roland David "Dave" Rotty

Roland David (Dave) Rotty, 92, passed away at Embrace Hospice, Myrtle Beach, SC on September 30, 2026.

Dave was born in Grand Island, NE on November 13, 1933 to Roland and Bernice Rotty.

Dave is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughter, Kathy Jackson (Alan); his son Kevin Ro (Kimber); four grandsons, Stuart Jackson, Keith Jackson, Ian Rotty (Grace), and Jack Rotty (Emily); a great granddaughter Adeline Rotty; and sister-in-law Jackie Ratcliff.

After being discharged from the Army, he returned to Virginia Tech and graduated two years later in 1959. Dave moved to Roanoke, Virginia when he was hired by Andrews Burkett and Company. This is where he met his wife of 66 years and became a Certified Public Accountant. Dave married Pat on May 21, 1960. He loved the Roanoke Valley but after retiring from Deloitte in 1990 decided Smith Mountain Lake would be the perfect place to sail and learn to play golf. Too many icy winters sent them to Pawleys Island, SC in 2003. Dave and Pat loved walking the beach with their golden retrievers, playing golf, and anxiously awaiting each visit from their grandsons. Dave was always proud of being a Hokie, a partner with Deloitte, a dad to Kathy and Kevin, a grandfather to his four grandsons, a great granddad to Adeline, and a wonderful husband to Pat!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Embrace Hospice, 175 Village Center Blvd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.

Burial will be later at Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke, VA.
