Roger Gunther Kleinmann, 61, of Hamilton, NJ died Friday, January 31, 2025 at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Roger began dating his wife of 34 years, Susan, shortly after she bought her home directly across the street from his. Roger and his friend Marty were on the front porch enjoying a cold beer after a long day of work when they saw her pull up in her Jeep for the first time. He recognized her immediately as they had many mutual friends. Roger was even Susan’s family paperboy at one time. They had an instant connection. Roger proposed in Haigerloch, Germany the following winter. Roger and Susan were married in September the following Fall. Their family quickly grew, having four beautiful children and starting a beautiful life together. An entrepreneur, Roger built, owned, and operated his business, Hamilton Pools with Susan for over 35 years. During this time, he built lasting relationships and a reputation as the best in the business. Roger was so proud of the life he was able to provide his family as a result of his hard work. This included fond memories at the Harvey Cedars beach house, taking out the wave runners and organizing ski trips. It was also important to Roger that his family be able to travel, taking trips all over the country and abroad. Just this past June, the entire family was able to take a bucket list cruise to Alaska to celebrate his and his wife's retirement. In retirement, he enjoyed quality time with his wife, drinking coffee with the sunrise on his pond-facing back patio, tackling home renovation projects, and spending time with his friends and family.
Roger is survived by his wife Susan Kleinmann, his children and their spouses Katrina and Gabriel Laverty, Kelly and Alex Edwards, Amanda Kleinmann and fiancé Rhio Giraldo, Roger Kleinmann and Danielle Ciaurro, his sister Gloria Stone, and brothers Ralph Kleinmann and Alfred Kleinmann. Roger was also a loving Opa in a growing family, having two grandchildren Elliot Edwards (2 years old) and Grace Edwards (2 months old). A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 10:30 to 11:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 260 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ, followed by visitation until 12:30pm. A reception for close friends and family will be held after the service.
