Robert (Bob) Carl Windish

Robert (Bob) Carl Windish, age 70, of North Myrtle Beach, SC passed away suddenly on February 26, 2021.  Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruth (Comerer) Windish.  He was preceded in death by his brother Michael F. Windish and sister-in-law Deborah (Wendt) Windish. 

Bob will be missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara, and by their three children:  Nicole Windish, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Windish and Scott (Heather) Windish.  “Papa” was the proud grandfather of Kendyll, Connor, Matthew, Tyler and the sweetest grand dog Zoey.  He is survived by many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.  Bob cherished many joy-filled occasions with his children, grandchildren and his extended family always with a Coca-Cola in hand.  His grandchildren will cherish the time they spent with him at the beach and riding in Papa’s Corvette.

Bob graduated from Michigan State University in December 1971.  After college, he proudly served for the Arlington County Police Department for four years.  Bob then landed his dream job to become a Special Agent for the United States Secret Service in 1976.  During his 20-year career, he proudly served many past presidents and world leaders.  

Bob and Barbara enjoyed the last 15 years of their retirement together in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He served as the HOA President of the condominium association where they resided. Bob and Barb had the adventure of a lifetime when they took Bob’s beloved Corvette across the country following the famous Route 66.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Our Lady Star of the Sea located at 1100 8th Ave N, North Myrtle Beach, SC.
