Robert "Bob" Eskridge

Robert “Bob” Eskridge, 78, of  Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 26 2022 at the Embrace Hospice House surrounded by his family.  Bob was born February 8, 1944 in Washington DC, to Thomas Eskridge and Inez Grim.

He graduated from RPI now commonly known as Virginia Commonwealth University in 1965 with a degree in business. After graduation he joined the US Air Force where he served until he was medically discharged. He spent the majority of his career working for Blue Cross in insurance and financial management. He married Sue and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage.  Susan, his only child came along later in life and was the joy in his life!  Bob and Sue were lucky enough to retire in 2000 to their favorite vacation destination, Myrtle Beach SC. They have enjoyed retirement, traveling, enjoying their daughter and grandson to the fullest.

Bob enjoyed all things golf, whether he was playing, watching, or traveling throughout the years caddying for Susan. He enjoyed his family, but in 2016 his greatest blessing arrived - Reece, his only grandson. They shared so many memories in Reece's short time on earth & their bond will be forever.

He is survived by his wife Sue of Myrtle Beach, daughter Susan Scarce of Myrtle Beach, Grandson Reece Scarce of a Myrtle Beach; sister in law Bet Alt of Gambrills Md; brother in law, Boyd Kimble of Franklin WVA, several nieces and nephews, and his fur baby Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Eskridge; mother, Inez Grim; and brother, Tom Eskridge.

A special thank you to the Embrace hospice house for their outstanding care during Bobs final days. 

The family will hold a private memorial and will announce arrangements at a later time.
