Robert Scott Van Houter 72, passed away peacefully Friday November 8, 2024 surrounded by his family in a room filled with love. He leaves a legacy of love, quiet strength and generosity of himself to others.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Betty Van Houter; his brother William Van Houter; his In laws Walter Frank and Melva Lee Moore; and his great-granddaughter Maicyn Armstrong.
Scott was born May 22, 1952 in Rochester, NY. He was married to Janice Van Houter for 52 years.
He had unconditional love for his wife, 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Lima Volunteer Ambulance and a member of the Lima Fire Department as Fire Police.
He worked for the Honeoye Falls Lima School District for 10 years and loved to interact with all the kids at school.
Survivors include his wife Janice, brother Tim VanHouter and wife Carol; his three daughters, Kathy Chambery and husband, John; Melinda Snyder; and Melissa Luft and husband Benjamin; 7 grandchildren, Brianna Armstrong and husband, Khyle ; Stephanie Amorese and husband, Donald; Andrew Snyder, Emily Van Houter, Jacob Chambery, Austin Snyder, and Haley Luft; 5 great grandchildren, Madilyn, Wyatt, and Maverick Armstrong; and Payton and Walter Amorese.
Graveside services will be 1:30, Wednesday, November 13 , 2024, at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens, North Myrtle Beach.
