Robert Edgar Johnson, Jr, born February 20,1940 in Augusta, GA, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his residence.
Robert graduated from Edgefield High School and attended Georgia Institute of Technology-Civil Engineering. He enlisted in the United States Air Force-1502nd Air Transport Wing (Heavy). Robert Earned his Master Captain License-Coastal and Oceans; BRPH Architect & Engineers; Estimator for Building Firm; Building Inspector; and Project Management for Commercial and Custom Homes. Preceded in death by his father, Robert Edgar Johnson, Sr. of Stellaville, GA and mother, Miriam Frances Jones Johnson of Saluda, SC, both were lifelong residents of Trenton, SC; and sister, LaDell Frances Johnson Yonce of Spartanburg, SC.
Robert is survived by his spouse, Kathleen Cagle Johnson; sons, Curtis (Melody) Johnson of Florida, Shane (Kathy) Johnson of North Carolina, Richard (Dana) Cagle of North Carolina, David (Kathy) Cagle of South Carolina and daughter, Frances (Clayton) Walker of Florida and grandchildren.
Robert will be remembered as a man that loved history, an avid reader, sports fan of College Baseball and a firm supporter and believer of the US Military. He was very adventurous, loved to travel with an exceptional memory. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and believer of God and Angels.
