Obituary

 

Robert William Froelich (Bob), the son of William, deceased, and Dorothy,
currently 100 years old, was born on November 17, 1946 in Elmont, New York.
Bob graduated from Elmont High School, class of 1964. He enlisted in the
Army in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1968, having spent most of his
time serving his country stationed in Germany.
Working as a civil engineer in telecommunications in many parts of the
world; including Thailand, China and England, Bob began his career working for
Nynex in December 1968 and retiring from Verizon in 1996. Bob finished his
career at J & L Technologies from 1997 -2004.
Bob grew up and lived on Long Island, moving to Myrtle Beach in 2003. He
became part of the Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club where he served as
President for 2 years and as the VE Testing Coordinator from 2016 until 2024,
enjoying many wonderful friendships along the way.
His love of hunting had him making many trips back to upstate NY
throughout the years. He had a passion for fishing from his boat and from the pier
in Myrtle Beach as well.
Bob spent a great deal of time nurturing the landscape and garden of the
home he loved so well. He always appreciated being outdoors.
When indoors, Bob enjoyed the constant company of his precious cats and
always welcomed time spent with his family and friends.
Bob passed away into his next life at age 78 on June 7, 2025, surrounded by
his loving family.
Surviving Bob in this life is his beloved wife, Sally.
Bob was a loving and devoted father to Michael Froelich (Nicole), Christine
Manos (Andy), Catherine Tucker (Steve), Amy DeVito, Ray DeVito (April), Keri
Puglisi (Michael).

Proud and adoring Grandfather of Makaila Tucker, Alexis Manos, Stephen
Tucker, Michael Robert Froelich, Michael William Manos, Anthony Froelich,
Joseph DeVito, Nicholas DeVito, Michael Puglisi and Olivia Puglisi.
Bob’s kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by his brother, Edward
(Suzann), sister, Jane Lombardi, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family
who loved and admired him.

A military service to honor Bob will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at

2:00 PM at the:
Florence National Cemetery
803 E. National Cemetery Rd.
Florence, SC 29506

Bob will forever be remembered for his dedication and love for his family
and friends, for the joy he brought to their lives, and for his ability to make others
feel loved and cherished. He will be greatly missed by the broken hearts he left
behind. With great love comes great grief.
