Richard Mancill, III Obituary

Richard Edward Mancill, III, beloved father, step-father, grandfather, husband and businessman passed away on Friday, July 22nd, 2022. He was 76-years-old.  Born in Kingstree, South Carolina, and raised in Georgetown, Richard graduated from Georgetown High School and enjoyed his days with his grandfather on Sunnyside Avenue in Murrells Inlet. He attended the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, and graduated in 1967 with an electrical engineering degree. Shortly after, he joined the U.S. Air Force, he had the honor of training with USAF Training Class 70-07. After completing training, Richard  proudly served our country as a refueling tanker pilot in Vietnam, flying KC 135s and C 123s.

Following his tour of duty with the Air Force, Richard returned to Murrells Inlet, where he founded Mancill Electric in 1976. He grew Mancill, Inc. into a large company employing hundreds of people and eventually expanding his company to incorporate HVAC and plumbing services. Throughout the years, he enjoyed serving as the President of the Dunes Club and being on the board of the Rotary and Sertoma Clubs, as well as on the board of the Chamber of Commerce.

Richard loved surrounding himself with family and friends. He spent his leisure time enjoying golf, hunting and bush hogging at his farm, working out with the sweat hogs, pilates with his instructor Lynda Mancuso, fishing in Eleuthera, enjoying the mountains of Highlands NC, traveling to beautiful countries around the world with Linda and friends, making lists, piddling around the house and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Richard was a kind and generous man who was always on time, kept his word and lived with integrity.

Richard is survived by his wife, Linda J. Mancill; Daughters, Liz Hughey (Nathan) and Caroline Kelm (Dax); Step-Daughters, Devrin Perry (Dak), Hayden Jones, Stacey Campbell (Mike), Kelli Marselis (Jeff), Michele Nuccitelli; Step-Sons, John Woodward, Nick Nuccitelli (Jeannie); 14 grandchildren, including Price Lyday, Tag Kelm, Rivers Kelm, Woods Jones and Gray Jones; Sister, Marthanne Brewer; and Half-Sister, Laura Mancil.
