Raymond McMillan

Raymond McMillan, after 92 years filled with family, friendship, hard work and more than a few good stories, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026. He leaves behind a family who adored him and a lifetime of memories that will continue to be shared for generations.

Raymond was born on January 25, 1934 in Glasgow, Scotland, to John and Hannah McMillan.  Ray was the youngest of five children. Raised in a creative and artistic family, he developed an early interest in art and piano. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Paisley Tech in Glasgow, Raymond left Scotland for the United States in 1957. He went on to enjoy a 34-year career with the Engineering Dept of the DuPont Company, where he met his future wife, Nancy Feucht.

Ray and Nancy were married 64 years ago on September 22, 1962, and together raised three children, Keith, Scott and Staci. Ray’s career with DuPont moved the family to Holland and Luxembourg, where they created a lifetime of memories traveling throughout Europe. The family later returned to Nancy’s hometown of Elkton, Maryland, where Ray continued his career with DuPont.  After retirement, Ray and Nancy moved to Myrtle Beach, SC in 2012.

Golf was one of Ray’s great passions. He proudly recorded two holes-in-one and, well into his later years, accomplished the remarkable feat of shooting his age. Some of his happiest times were spent on the course with his regular foursome and playing couples twilight golf with Nancy. Beyond golf, Ray cherished time spent with family and friends, whether playing pinochle, enjoying games with his grandchildren, or taking sunset cruises on the boat with his family. Ray is a former member of the Newark Country Club in Newark, Delaware and a current member of the First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, and their three children: Keith (Becca) McMillan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Scott (Lisa) McMillan of Bellevue, Washington; and Staci (Chris) Donegan of Savannah, Georgia. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Alec (Alexis) McMillan, Dr. Zachary McMillan (Mary Hardin), and Sadie McMillan, all of Myrtle Beach; and Delaynie and Donovan McMillan of Bellevue, Washington; as well as two great-grandchildren, Skipper Keith McMillan and Ramona June McMillan of Myrtle Beach.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his four siblings, and a cherished granddaughter, Anne Chaddock Donegan.

A Memorial Service celebrating Ray’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church on Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach, with a reception immediately following the service. Interment will be private.
