Rahnda Sprawls Ford of Little River has passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 54 years old.
Rahnda was a Rock Star. She was brilliant and engaging, with an unforgettable smile that she shared freely. She loved openly and with all her heart. She was a remarkable mother, mentor to countless students and peers. She was also the life of the party who never met a stranger and loved to strike up a conversation. She was also the best wife any husband could imagine!
Rahnda was born January 13, 1968 to Dr. John Sprawls and Frances Sprawls in Wagener, SC. Her early years were spent in Irmo, SC, she moved to North Myrtle Beach with her family in 1983. A graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School she was a starting forward for the Chiefs as they won the State AA basketball Championship in 1986.
A life-long lover of education and learning, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1990, her Master of Education Learning and Teaching degree from Coastal Carolina University in 2012, her degree as Education Specialist Instructional Technology from Coastal Carolina University in 2016, and had begun preparation for her dissertation as she completed work on her Doctoral degree while fighting cancer. She was a National Board-Certified Teacher, Teacher of the Year in 2013, and was an employee with Horry County Schools as an Instructional Coach at the Academy for the Arts Science and Technology in Myrtle Beach.
Rahnda is survived by her parents, her husband Doug Ford of Little River, sons Carson Livers of Maitland, FL and Michael Livers of St. Petersburg, FL, her brothers Patrick Sprawls of Seattle, Washington, John L. Sprawls Jr. of Lexington, SC, her stepson Justin Ford of Los Angeles, CA, her stepdaughter Rachel Burns and her husband Jason Burns of Charleston, SC. She was also a very proud Rah Rah to Tucker, Rhett, Jaxson, Levi and Lyla Burns whom she loved dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, 10595 N. Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. The family will receive friends at McMillan-Small Funeral from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2022.
