Peggy S. Sansbury

Peggy Seals Sansbury, wife of R. Rhett Sansbury, Jr. went home to be with the Lord Friday March 19, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in 1956 in Marion SC, a daughter of the late William H. Seals and Melba Reid Seals. She graduated from Pee Dee Academy 1974 and from Converse College in 1978.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Ocean View Baptist Church where she served in various leadership roles. She also served as the Teaching Leader to the Myrtle Beach women’s day class of Bible Study Fellowship International for many years. Peggy was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and she sought to glorify Him in everything she did. She touched many lives by her faithful obedience to Jesus and her desire to have people know Him. She lived her life for Christ alone and loved the verse “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians 1:21.

In addition to her husband of 41 years, she is survived by three children, Robert R. Sansbury, III (Jilian), Rebecca S. Reck (Jonny), and Margaret Ann S. Duncan (Will); four beloved grandchildren, Gabriel Reck, Lillian Duncan, Rhett Sansbury, and Reid Sansbury; sister, Susan S. Collins and brother, The Honorable William H. Seals (Phoebe); mother-in-law, Shelby D. Sansbury; sister-in-law, H. Gael Sansbury (Rick Davidson); niece, Emily Brown(Creston); and nephews, Hampton Collins (Meagan) and William Seals; and two great-nieces.

She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Robert R. Sansbury Sr. and her brother-in-law, Dr. Wade H. Collins.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Ocean View Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 22, 2021 at Ocean View Baptist Church. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Ocean View Baptist Church's website, www.ovbc.org. A private family burial will be at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery.
