Patricia Kyle Brown (Pat) Bethune passed peacefully on July 16,2026, joining her beloved Bob.
Pat was born in Roanoke, Virginia on May 7,1934 to Virginia Southall Brown and Wesley Aubrey Brown.
She was a graduate of Virginia Intermont College, with a degree in art.
In 1959 Pat married her one true love, Bob Bethune. Together they shared 67 years of marriage.
Pat devoted her life to loving and caring for their three sons, as well as their friends. Pat knew that with boys, love often meant instilling fear in them when needed.
Anyone who knew Pat well also knew that they never had to guess how she felt. But you always knew that you were dearly loved.
Pat is survived by her sons Robert (Sandra), Brown (Brenda), and Philip Bethune.
Grandchildren Tyler Bethune (Abbey), Beau Bethune, Wil Bethune (Paula), Peachy Bethune, Hensley Bethune and Huck Bethune. They will all greatly miss the woman who they saw as a pillar of strength.
Pat’s love and legacy will continue with her great grandchildren, Banks, Blair, and coming soon, William.
Pat treasured her extended family Carlotta Wiggins, Susan Johnson Sparks, Zan Wiggins, Gil Wiggins, Rob Wiggins, and Patrick Sparks.
Pat is also survived by her faithful fur baby, Gracie, who was always by her side.
A special “thank you” to Joyce Hill Britt, who lovingly cared for Pat.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 31st at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach. Following the service please join the family at 44&King for a time of fellowship and remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in honor of Pat to First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach.
