Obituary

Pamela Kay Moushey Haas, whose sparkling spirit and extraordinary warmth left a
beautiful mark on everyone she met, died of cancer on September 9 in Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina, her longtime home.
Pam’s greatest joys were her son, Christopher “Chris” Rand, her daughter in law,
Jackie, and her two granddaughters, Amelia and Audrey. They were the center of her
world and her greatest source of pride. A devoted mother, adoring "nanny", and
treasured sister, aunt, and friend, she made life brighter for everyone fortunate enough
to know her.
Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Pam was the daughter of Helen and William R.
Moushey Sr. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1970 and Kent State
University in 1974.
Trained as an educator, Pam began her career in the Stark County law library. She later
lived in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she
managed a law office and welcomed Chris in 1983.
After settling in Myrtle Beach in the mid-80s, Pam built a close community and a
successful career as a real estate broker. She spent decades helping develop and
market the Tidewater Golf Club community, earning the admiration of clients and
colleagues for her sharp business sense and the calm she brought to every transaction.
She embraced life by the ocean, walking the beach almost every day, but nothing
mattered more to her than time with her family.
Pam is survived by Chris and his wife, Jackie; her granddaughters, Amelia and Audrey;
her beloved sister, Judy Moushey Pitts of Myrtle Beach; her brothers, Bill Moushey Jr.
(Kris) of Aventura, Florida, and Scott Moushey
(Leslie) of Lake Mohawk; her nieces, Marcie Pitts, Jessica Simms (Matt), Leah Moushey
(Chris), and Rachel Moushey; her nephew, William Moushey III (Maya); her stepson,
Robert Haas (Julia); three step-grandchildren (Conrad, Crawford, and Foster); and great
nieces and nephews, Isabel Rodela, Ava Kocher, Zev Moushey, Rori Jones, Yael
Moushey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Fred Haas,
and her favorite aunt (Margie).
Her sparkle lives on in the family she adored and the many lives she made more
beautiful.
A memorial service is being planned. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to one of
her favorite charities: St. Jude’s or Tunnels to Towers.
