Pamela Jean Blair

Pamela Jean Blair (Bass), 77, a beloved resident of Myrtle Beach, passed away peacefully after a brief stay at Duke Hospice House in Durham NC. leaving behind a legacy of warmth, dedicated service, and cherished memories.

Born in Danville, Virginia, Pam was the youngest daughter of the late Benny and Wanda Bass.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Virginia “Genny” Bass Meeler, her brother-in-law, Edward Hopson Meeler “Hop” and her spunky cocker spaniel, Precious. 

Pam is survived by her husband, Walter Bernard Blair III and her nieces Amy Meeler Holloway (Tim) and Ashley Meeler Stathatos. 

She is also survived by her two adored cavalier King Charles spaniels, Neiman and Marcus.

Pam spent 30 years soaring through the skies as a flight attendant, a career that perfectly captured her adventurous spirit, love for meeting new people, and passion for travel. Throughout her decades in the air, her calm presence, bright smile, and natural hospitality brought comfort to countless passengers.

Pam also built and maintained a thriving jewelry business and traveled the country sharing her inventory with new and repeat customers.  She had a keen eye for business and was able to grow Pamela’s Jewelry into a full time career.  Her aptitude for customer service and creating a virtual storefront launched Pam to earn a coveted spot on Myrtle Beach’s “Who’s Who of Business” roster.  She was also active in the Myrtle Beach Women’s Club.

In her retirement, she embraced the simple pleasures of coastal living in Myrtle Beach—enjoying the ocean breeze, sunny days at the Dunes Club, and quality time with those she held dear. Pam was known for her generous heart, vibrant energy, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
