Nils Theus Malmberg Obituary

Theus was born in Stockholm, Sweden, the youngest of three children to his parents, Josephine and Sven Malmberg, Sr. His siblings are a brother, Sven, Jr., of Stockholm and a sister, Penny Charlotte Lind, of France. After growing up in Sweden, Theus lived in India for many years in early adulthood, where he became a devout follower of Meher Baba. It was while in India that he met the love of his life, Rachael. The two married at sunrise October 18, 1987, oceanside in Myrtle Beach. He and Rachael lived in the Durham area of North Carolina for many years. They retired to Santa Fe, New Mexico, then later moved to Tucson, Arizona, and finally, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to be closer to their faith community at the Meher Spiritual Center. Theus was an extraordinary person who touched so many lives with his loving kindness and giving spirit, as well as an unforgettable hearty laugh.Though he suffered with daily pain due to a physical disability, he never complained and brought joy to all around him. He loved art, music, animals, the ocean, the mountains and desert, his friends and family, and most of all, his beloved Baba. Theus is survived by his brother and sister; nephews Sebastian & Nicholas, niece Rebecca, and her children, Eleonore and Édouard; his stepdaughter, Kristalara (“Lara”) Massie Jacquot (John) of Atlanta, and her sons Justice, Joseph and Jacob Jacquot. He also leaves behind countless dear friends, including Sher and Tony Zois of Myrtle Beach who were like family to Rachael, Theus and Lara, and many others across the globe, as well as his two adoring felines, Luciano and Mama. Arrangements for a Celebrate of Life are pending.
