Nichele "Niki" Ann Simpson

A cherished wife, a devoted mother and beloved grandmother passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025 at the age of 77. Born in Great Lakes, Illinois on June 18, 1947, she was known for her kind heart and boundless love for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur E. Simpson, Jr., her children, Kelly Simpson-Apacible (Edward Apacible), Scott Simpson (Marie Beauchamp), Julie Stoner (Terry Gouge) and her grandchildren, Riley, Bowden, Casey, Gracie, Emmy and Sebastian. She is also survived by her brother, Kevin Joyce (Natalie Tarter), her niece, Amy Wright (Jeff), their children, Evan and Avery, and her nephew, Adam Joyce (Erica Daniel). She is preceded by her father and mother, Thomas and Betty Joyce.

Niki was a Registered Nurse by trade and stayed connected to the nursing field throughout her life. She was an avid reader and golfed regularly with Art. She also earned her BA from St. Francis after her kids had grown. She and Art had a passion for travel, especially with lifelong friends, Larry and Sally Feniger. She leaves behind many other friends from their lives in Indianapolis, Mechanicsburg, PA, North Myrtle Beach, and the Portside at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach. Niki and Art were members of and greatly enjoyed their time at the Surf Club in the “Gang of Eight.” Art likes to joke there’s a pond on a par 3 there that often got the better of her. Niki dedicated her life to nurturing her loved ones, always offering a listening ear and advice if asked. She adored her family and friends and her loss is profound.

A celebration of her life will be held on April 12, 2025 at 11 a.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, following by a reception at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort and Spa at Grand Dunes, 8400 Costa Verde Drive, Myrtle Beach.
