Naomi Cleopatra Cabiness-Larmond, affectionately known as “Na”, departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 7:00 A.M. in her sleep.
Naomi was born on April 1, 1931, to (the late) James and Willie Ann Cabiness in Vivian West Virginia. She later married Rudolph A. Larmond (05/25/2001) who predeceased her. She is also preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Swain, Ida Cabiness, Shirley Hill, Betty Coles; and two brothers: James and Ronald Cabiness, and one aunt Dorothy Martin.
Naomi attended school in Kimball, West Virgina and graduated from Kimball High School May 24, 1949. Following graduation from High School she moved to Brooklyn where she resided until December 19, 2022, at which time she moved to South Carolina to be near family. Naomi wanted to maintain her independence, be safe and receive the care she needed. She resided in Indigo (Luxury living for Seniors) with her sister Georgetta where they both received excellent care from caring and compassionate staff members until she died.
Naomi worked for Union 32B-32J for many years and as a Supervisor for New York State Civil Service Testing. Naomi was actively involved in Kimball High School Alumni Association, the Democratic Club in her community in Brooklyn, and the Board of Elections.
Naomi leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, her devoted daughter Deborah; devoted son-in-law Reginald; two sisters: Brenda Cabiness and Georgetta Cabiness. five grandchildren, Cameron, Kimberly, Kanin, Cory, Marcy, and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Eison and a devoted friend Marvel James. She is also survived by host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many loving friends. The family also acknowledges her friend the late Frank Stoney.
We will miss you Naomi, we love you.
