Nancy H. Michalizysen

Nancy H. Michalizysen, 92, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on November 26, 1933, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Nancy lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Nancy worked for many years as a dedicated administrative assistant, where she was known for her reliability, kindness, and quiet strength. Beyond her professional life, she embraced her most important roles as a loving wife, mother, Babci, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She had a special gift for making those around her feel cared for and valued.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Fred Michalizysen, daughter-in-law Debbie Michalizysen, and brother-in-law Guy Colonnello.

She is survived by her three children, who were the center of her world, John Michalizysen (Debbie), Linda Sisto and her husband John, and Donna Michalizysen and her husband Bob Whitaker. Nancy was also a proud and loving Babci to Matthew, Danielle, and Allison, and lovingly welcomed Allison’s fiancé, Brad, into the family. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Kempner (and her husband Bill), Barbara Colonnello (Guy), and a host of nieces, nephews and many others she considered family.

Nancy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She cherished her time with the Tuesday rosary group, where her faith and friendships grew deeply. She loved reading, completing puzzles, and especially enjoyed playing the card game May I, always sharing laughter and companionship with family and friends.

Nancy will be remembered for her devotion to God, country and family, as well as her warm smile, her gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church in Harrison, New Jersey. Interment will follow at 11:30 am at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey. 

Repast will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Roma Italian Restaurant, 33 Crystal Street, North Arlington, NJ 07032.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nancy’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Nancy will be deeply missed and forever loved.
