Minerva Marge Deegan, 96, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Embrace Hospice House. She was born October 29, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Nasri and Naima Marge.
Along with her parents, Minerva is reunited in passing with her son, Michael Deegan.
Minerva was a hardworking woman with a passion for life and family. She proudly worked as a Civil Service member at the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Her role there as a telephone operator and translator was commended for her professionalism and compassion on several occasions. She was extremely proud of her time on the base.
Left to cherish Minerva’s memory are her beloved son George Deegan and his wife, Armillas “Millie” Deegan; daughter-in-law, DeEtta Deegan; grandson, Matthew Deegan and his wife Katie; her treasured cousins, Elie, Ellen Jean, Carol, and Eddie; as well as her beloved family pet, “Doggie”.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 3, 2021 at Trinity Church Chapel, with burial in Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
