Michelle Ann Brown

Michelle A. Brown, 69, of Warren, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at McLeod Seacoast Hospital, in Little River, South Carolina, while on vacation following an extended illness.

Born on July 7, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Thelma Jean (Burr) Fortney.

Michelle graduated in 1974 from Howland High School, was a homemaker, and worked as the customer service manager at Home Depot.

She loved preparing family meals, vegetable gardening, traveling, and enjoying time with her family.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and her siblings Cynthia Bonini, Anthony Fortney, Sharon Snowden, and Gloria Finley.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Bruce Brown, whom she married October 6, 2001; her sons, Gary (Ellie) DeMattia and Camren Brown; her grandchildren, Viviana DeMattia, Logan DeMattia; and her siblings, Deborah (Jay) Maltry, Kathy (Roger) Lahti, Carol (Randy) Dittmer, Brian (Judy) Fortney, and Sabrina (Robert) Burns and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 14 from 2-4 pm, at the Howland Community Church, 198 Niles Cortland Rd SE, Warren, OH 44484.

Calling hours were held on Thursday, May 28, at the McMillian-Small Funeral Home with a procession immediately following to the Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery, 2408 S. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC for the graveside service.

Michelle will be remembered for her deep love of family, strong faith in the Lord, and her love of travel.
