Michele Kimmel (DiMatteo) Williams

Michele (née DiMatteo) Kimmel Williams passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, just two days before her 74th birthday. She died in the home she lovingly designed and decorated on Commons Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach—a place she called her "Heaven on Earth” with Barry at her side.

Michele shared a deep and joyful partnership with Barry Kimmel. They were united in a Spiritual Union Ceremony  on October 8, 2017, officiated by Hojin Jody Kimmel, complete with pepperoni ring —a cherished family joke that perfectly reflected their sense of humor and love of life.

Born in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, New Jersey, Michele was the daughter of Michael and Dena (Pirozzi) DiMatteo. She spent much of her life in the Trenton area, where she and her husband, Robert, raised their beloved twins, Michael and Jamie. Michele was a devoted mother who always put her family first. Alongside raising her children, she built a distinguished career with the State of New Jersey, serving for more than 30 years. She concluded her career as an Executive Secretary in the Office of the Attorney General.

In 2011, Michele's life took a wonderful new direction when she met Barry. After their union in 2017, they moved to Myrtle Beach, where they embraced life with enthusiasm, often saying they were living la vita loca. Together they enjoyed cruising in their classic Corvette, attending car shows, and spending tivme aboard their boat, Just for Fun. Michele delighted in spontaneous road trips to Florida, the mountains of North Carolina—where she proudly crossed zip-lining off her bucket list—and charming Southern cities such as Charleston and Columbia.

She loved relaxing on the beach, people-watching, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking with manatees, tubing, fishing, and discovering local restaurants, cultures, and hidden treasures. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping with her beloved  cousin Angel, affectionately known as her "#1 cuz."

Anyone fortunate enough to know Michele experienced her remarkable gift for friendship. She cultivated deep relationships and gave of herself generously. Michele will be remembered for her beauty, charm, quick wit, feisty spirit, intelligence, and the joy she brought into the lives of so many.

Above all, Michele deeply loved her family. She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Barry Kimmel, her cherished twins, Michael Williams and Jamie House, her five treasured grandchildren: Olivia Williams, Brady Williams, Orion Tress, River Hayes, and Evan House, and special cousin Angel Mangarelli, and sisters-in-law, Ronnie Voigt Dermotta and Jody Hojin Kimmel, each of whom held a special place in her heart

Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) team at MUSC for their extraordinary compassion, expert care, unwavering support, and kindness throughout Michele's journey.

Services will be privatie at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Horry and Georgetown Counties where Michele served for 7 years dedicating a lot of time serving meals, delivering them and anything else that was needed. MOW became a family to her and she loved everyone deeply.
