Michael Robert Hadfield

Obituary

Mike Hadfield, long-time Myrtle Beach resident and "tax man," passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, July 2, 2026, at the age of 79.
Defined by rich life experiences as an Army Captain, Field Artillery, HR Block tax accountant, Seahawks volunteer football coach, and local golfer, Mike enjoyed every minute of his life. He especially looked forward to Disney trips, Friday lunches around town with neighbors, and Sunday lunches with family. We will remember him lovingly for his amazing memory of "Dad" jokes, dates of events, and anything with numbers.
While we are profoundly sad, we are also profoundly grateful to have loved him.
Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Amelia; two daughters, Sarah and her husband Kurtis Kwasny, and Martha and her husband Joshua Poole; three granddaughters, Lily Kwasny, Lucy Kwasny, and Jillian Poole; two grandsons, Jack Kwasny, and McLain Poole and his wife Peyton; and great grandson, Waylon Poole. He is also survived by his younger brother Steven Hadfield. Mike also leaves behind a large extended family in Galax, Virginia who loved him dearly.
We acknowledge our sincere appreciation to all the caregivers at Grand Strand Medical Center and South Strand Wound Care Center for their medical skills and personal care over the years.
Memorials may be made in Mike's honor to Military Order of the Purple Heart, "Honoring their sacrifice with our service."
