Michael Andrew Blythe, 77,  of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021 at Brightwater Assisted Living Facility.  Born September 18, 1943 in Kinston, North Carolina. He was the son of Andrew Lee Blythe and Edna L. Tyndall Blythe.

Michael spent much of his younger life in New Bern N.C where many of his loved ones and family remain.  He graduated from New Bern High School and attended East Carolina University.  Michael began in the airline business as a young man and was passionate about the industry.  He began his career with Piedmont Airlines, which later became US Airways from where he ultimately retired.  Michael’s career as a station manager led him to have opportunities to lead operations in Myrtle Beach S.C, Fayetteville, N.C, and Miami, FL. Michael was an avid college football fan, and never missed watching the Clemson Tigers play.  Michael enjoyed traveling, and living by the coast.  He loved to share a good joke and a laugh.

Michael is survived by his daughter Amy Melissa Marsh and her husband Jeremy of Independence, KY, and stepdaughter Ashley Nicole Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC.  Michael is also survived by his grandchildren Lauren Collins and Kyle Collins of Independence, KY.  He is survived also by his former spouse Ollie Stokes Seidman of Union, KY, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife Wendy Allison Blythe, his parents, Andrew and Edna Blythe, and his brother Larry Blythe.
