Michael Alessi, 70, passed away on March 13, 2026, after a long battle with liver cancer and two strokes. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, a son, and two amazing grandchildren.
He was born on April 29, 1955, in Bayshore, New York, to Frances and Louis Alessi. He was a construction superintendent, overseeing construction of major roadways and bridges on Long Island.
He also was a superintendent in charge of all the outside work on the new stadium for the Mets, now called Citifield. He loved spending time golfing with his friends and most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He will be sorely missed.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow.
