Melissa O’Brien Williams, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, entered eternal rest in the early hours of Sunday, November 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 5, 1975, in Cleburne, Texas, Melissa was the beloved daughter of Tim and Mary Ann O’Brien.
Melissa faced her illness with unwavering courage and remarkable strength. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, meeting every challenge with grace, grit, and quiet resilience.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Williams; her cherished son, O’Brien Holt; and stepdaughter, Bella Williams. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lacey and Zack McQuigg, and their children, Jax and Ellie; and her brother, TJ O’Brien. Melissa’s life and memory will also be carried forward by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who deeply loved her.
Those who knew Melissa will remember her as someone who lived simply and loved deeply. She found peace in nature — in fireside conversations, camping trips, ocean air, and music that eased her spirit. She cared for animals with tenderness, cherished loyalty, and gave thoughtfully. Her life was quiet but meaningful, and her love will continue in the hearts she touched.
A Memorial Service celebrating Melissa’s life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, physicians, and hospice team whose compassion and presence brought comfort during her final months.
