Mary (Meehan) Tompkins

Mary Tompkins passed away from this life on Monday 20 January 2025 in Myrtle Beach SC. We have no doubt she is now at peace and resting in the arms of God in Heaven.
Mary was born on 21 May 1935 in St. Albans Vermont to parents William S. Meehan and Margaret Sullivan Meehan. She graduated from Cathedral High in Springfield, MA. In 1953 before marrying William J. Tompkins who was serving there at the time in the military. They were stationed at several different duty locations in the U.S. including Arizona and Florida before settling down in MB SC where William was from. He then went on to serve various overseas assignments including 2 tours of Vietnam while Mary raised their 4 children back home. She was employed with AVX corporation of MB for 23 years and a member of St Andrew’s parish since 1962 where all 4 children attended St Andrew’s school. Her children she leaves behind are Brian Tompkins of Myrtle Beach, Kathleen Smitherman ( Larry) of San Antonio Tx, Bruce Tompkins ( Denise)of Fall River, MA and Brent Tompkins ( Christine) of Barnwell, SC.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved parents and sister Kathryn Meehan Germano. Her brother William A. Meehan resides in Chicago, Illinois. Mary has 3 grandchildren Amanda of Tn. , Krystal Rene and Valerie Marie of Tx.
