Mary Sue Jones D’Alcamo was born in the Silas Creek area of Ashe County on May 6, 1936. She left this earth peacefully on January 4, 2026. In the most recent years she lived with family in Oxford, Florida, Conway and Inman SC. She is survived by her son Randy Revis, and wife Barbara, her daughter Cindy Revis Phillps and husband Wayne, and daughter Stacy D’Alcamo Stephens and granddaughter Briana Stephens. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother (Nana). She also stayed in contact with many other friends and family and relished the friendship of many others that preceded her in death. She tragically became a widow in her mid-twenties with two young children after losing her 1st husband Vincent Revis in an accident. She was blessed with a second daughter Stacy after marrying Anthony (Tony) who is also now deceased. She was always involved with all of her children, and in later years, her granddaughter.
She was a smart student and teacher. She attended Queens Business College and Appalachian State University. She had a beautiful handwriting even in her later years. She worked very hard as a medical transcriptionist, later becoming a college level teacher of this and other related subjects. She was the director of medical records at Alleghany Hospital in Sparta, NC. After moving to the coast she worked in several hospitals, including New Hanover, Coastal Cancer Center and Dosher Hosptial, while working extra for private doctors. During her life time she worked multiple jobs for the benefit of her family. After retirement she continued to work in retail such as JC Penny’s for several more years, and worked because she preferred to, not because she had to. She enjoyed involvement in her church and volunteered for many years with the infant and toddlers nurseries of the churches she attended. She enjoyed reading the Bible and being involved with her church. Although being born in the western NC Mountains she enjoyed the beach and coastal areas. As a youth she played basketball and was captain of her team. She also shared this with her children and grandchild and continued to follow this sport. Sue enjoyed tennis. She enjoyed interacting with family, friends, and neighbor’s playing card games such as Rook. She loved working in the yard and planting flowers.
Sue was witty, loving, caring, funny, intelligent, giving, kind, fun, thoughtful, awesome, and so much more. The earth was a better place because of her. She was a true Christian woman and we are sure she is in heaven. She taught her children about God’s love and will never be forgotten.
