Martin Frank Obituary

Martin Lee Frank, died on Monday, May 24th, 2021 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Martin was born on February 6th, 1923 in Annapolis, Maryland; the home of the Naval Academy Grounds. His parents were Joseph Edward and Madeline Jane (Custy) Frank.

Martin was married in 1947 to Lucy Hoolahan (deceased) for 40 years.

He then married his current wife, Mary (Chris) Frank on July 1st, 1989 at Ocean View Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach.

Martin graduated from Annapolis High School in 1941. He then attended the Naval Reserve Program in Annapolis. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1946. Martin  continued his education at Harvard Business school and graduated in 1947. He then began working for General Motors and continued with GM for 36 years. He earned the Executive position at General Motors headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.

Martin is a World War II and Korean War Veteran.

Martin loved to travel and has visited every continent. He also enjoyed golfing, reading the New York Times daily and walking on the beach. Martin was also an avid animal lover and would often take in strays.

Martin adopted five children: Peter,( wife Nancy Frank) Michael, Susan (deceased), Brian and Timothy.  He also leaves behind a brother, Charles (and wife, Jean) 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a niece, Mary Jean.

His service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Martin would like donations to be given to the Grand Strand Humane Society https://www.grandstrandhumanesociety.com/how-you-can-help/donate/.
