He is also survived by his loving brother, Glenn Bellamy (Beverly) of Decatur, GA.

Marion dedicated his professional life to public service through his work with the United States Post Office. He served as Postmaster in Pawleys Island for most of his career, where he became a well-known and respected member of the community. He was S.C. Postmaster of the Year in 1986, and he served on numerous state offices to represent SC on the national level for several years. His dedication, reliability, and friendly nature left a lasting impression on those he served. Following his retirement, he operated the Glenn Marion Motel along with his wife, where he was appreciated for his hospitality and commitment to helping others.
Marion had a deep passion for all things Clemson, especially following his beloved Tigers football team. He took great pride in watching them win three national championships, and sharing those moments with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was car rides traveling to games with his family and sharing treasured memories at “the condo” for home games with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.
Marion was an active and dedicated member of the Lions Club and Boys Scouts of America, where he contributed his time to community service, fundraising, and outreach efforts. He valued the friendships he formed and was proud to support both organizations’ mission of helping others. Marion served as Eyesite Chairman with the Lions Club for 25 years where he was instrumental in helping get glasses to those that were in need, and he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award which is the highest honor that can be bestowed a Lion. Marion served as Scout Master for Boy Scout troop #845 for ten years.
Marion was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and faithfully served as an usher for most of his adult life at First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was devoted to his faith and took great joy in welcoming others and serving his church on various committees.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, June 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon at First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends in the church parlor at 11:00 am. A private burial will take place at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Gideons Myrtle Beach Chapter PO Box 8832 Myrtle Beach, SC 29578 or Gideons International (gideons.org), reflecting one of his greatest passions: sharing his faith in Jesus Christ with others. Marion served for over 25 years to the work and ministry of the Gideons, including serving as Camp President.
Marion will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, deep faith in Jesus Christ, spirit of service, and love for Clemson football. Let us come together to celebrate a life well-lived and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
