Marilee Cronin, 85, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Born on March 15, 1941, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Marilee was one of six children born to the late Francon Hughes and Mary Louise Burkhardt.
Marilee dedicated many years of her life to helping others as a substance abuse counselor, working throughout New Jersey and South Carolina. She was married to John P. Cronin for 17 years.
Marilee enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout her life and especially cherished spending time with her friends and family. She had a vibrant spirit and a love for dancing that brought joy to those around her. Whether attending social gatherings, sharing laughter with friends, or dancing to her favorite music, Marilee embraced life with warmth, energy, and kindness.
Marilee is survived by her daughters, Erin Stanley (Michael Capobianco), Kelly Green (Matthew Green), and Becky Scott-Fuller; her granddaughters, Kyleigh Fuller, Samantha Larkin, and Heather Stanley; and her brother, Darrell Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Cronin; her brothers, Stanley Hughes and Tucker Hughes; and her sisters, Anne Hughes and Thelma Hughes.
A Celebration of Life honoring Marilee will be held on June 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, 910 67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
Marilee will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her dedication to helping others, her love of friendship and family, and the joy she found in dancing and living life to the fullest. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
