Lucia Vigo, age 62, of North Myrtle Beach, passed away in her home on March 1st, 2026.
Lucia was born on January 12, 1964, in Manhattan, New York to Iris and William Zapata. She graduated from Berkeley Secretarial School of Westchester in 1982 and worked for Scott Johnson, Esquire for 44 years. She enjoyed watching NY sports, including the Mets, Giants, and Rangers. She was an amazing wife and mother. Her favorite activities were cooking, going to the beach, taking cruises, getting her nails done, singing, and hosting family parties. She also loved purple, hot chocolate, and I Love Lucy reruns.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lucia is survived by her husband, Hector Vigo Jr., whom she married on December 4, 1982. Also left to cherish her memory are her son Daniel (Heather) Vigo of Myrtle Beach; nephew William (Karina) Zapata and their daughter Brianna of Powder Springs; brothers Alberto, Wilfredo, and Wilberto Zapata, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thank you to nieces Daneiry Asis and Rosa Haley for making Lucy comfortable in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC
The family will receive visitors at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on Friday March 6th from 5:00-7:00pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
The family is appreciative of the care team from McLeod Hospice: Tammy, Lauren, Katie, Hannah, Pam and Leah.
