Jane “Button” Honeycutt Spencer passed away on May 24, 2022 at the age of 50.
She was born February 3, 1972, in Columbia, S.C. to Rob and Lina Honeycutt. On May 16, 1997, she married Richard “Richie” Spencer Jr.
A 1990 graduate of Irmo High School, Jane went on to graduate from Midlands Technical College with the degree of Associate in Health Science in Dental Hygiene in 1995. She worked as a dental hygienist for more than 25 years in both Columbia and Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was a self-proclaimed “Master Hygienist” who was loved by her patients and coworkers.
Jane was a devoted and loving wife, who treasured and valued her family and friends. Jane’s passing will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her so much.
On the weekends, Jane, Richie, their friends and family could be found on the sand or in the surf in North Myrtle Beach. Her quick wit and sense of humor endeared her to everyone she met.
Her canine kids, Dotti and Buddy, who previously crossed the rainbow bridge, and their two existing Feline kids Toonces and Foster brought her immense joy and were loved members of the family. She loved every living creature and had an incredible desire to travel and explore.
She is survived by: her husband, Richie Spencer Jr.; her parents, Rob and Lina Honeycutt; her brother, Jeff (Lisa) Honeycutt; her in-laws, Richard (Janet) Spencer; brother-in-law, Michael Spencer; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased in death by her infant brother, William Neil Honeycutt, and her grandparents on both sides.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 PM Tuesday, June 07, 2022 at River Center at Saluda Shoals, 5605 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will receive guests from 3:30 PM until the time of the service at River Center at Saluda Shoals. Guests are encouraged to stay and share memories and to celebrate the life of Jane Honeycutt Spencer afterwards.
